Did you know that in our natural body fruit are essential for a healthy
lifestyle?

In fact, the "5 a Day" campaign, which dates back to the early '90s may not be
enough. The reason? Under the U.S. Government's latest food guidelines, five
servings of fruits and vegetables may not complete the job.

Adults need anywhere from 7-13 cups of produce daily to get all the health
benefits of fruits type 2 diabetes, and cancer. (www.webmd.com)

If fruit are essential to the natural body
how much more in the Spiritual
Body.
What Spiritual Fruit do you bear? What fruit are you producing?

In Matthew 21:18 –20, When Jesus was hungry and the fig tree did not bear
fruit he cursed it.

Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing
thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee
henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree
withered away!

Just like in the book of Matthew, if we the Saints of God do not produce the
proper spiritual fruit we will dry up just like the fig tree. If we are good then we
should bring forth that which is good. We are what we produce.

Luke 6:43-45
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.

For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs,
nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes

Godly fruit is Love. Out of Love comes joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.  There is no law against how
much of these fruit we can exhibit.  Go ahead and try to out love someone
more than they have loved you.  There is no limit on the amount of love that
we can give. Because God Himself is love.

When we are not operating in the fruit of the Spirit we are dead and good for
nothing.

Jude 1:12
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding
themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds;
trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

We should take proper care of our fruit. Fruit can become rotten when left
unrefrigerated. We may have noticed some brown spots on the banana, or
some soft spots on an apple.  We may have even noticed a blemish or two on
our orange and the skin of the grapes may be less textured. These are all
warning signs when fruit is about to spoil. Do not let the godly fruit in your life
decay.

In addition, don’t let these
3 self destructive – Rs damage your fruit.

Beware of
resentment – the reaction we view as negative to what we think
was said or done.

Watch out for
resistance, which is the cutting off of communication or the
putting up of a wall.  When you refuse to talk to someone this is resistance.
When you resist, you LOSE CONTROL.

Thirdly avoid
revenge. Do not attempt to get even.
Remember Cain and Abel. In Genesis Chapter 4:

Cain murders Abel because of his envy of the favor of God on Abel’s life.

  • He resented God & Abel
  • He resisted the Lord
  • He took revenge when he murdered Abel.

Cain became a loser. He lost out.  His resentment, resistance and his revenge
caused his fruit to decay. Cain lost total control.

James 3:16-18:

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy
to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without
hypocrisy.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Check the results of what has been produced in your life. Inspect your fruit.  Is
it withered, rotten or decayed?  Conduct a self-examination.  Then ask
yourself, do I have the peaceable fruit of righteousness?

In other words, Got Fruit?
